When creating or editing your tier, you can limit the number of available member spots to keep a tier exclusive or give you more control over the number of benefits you’ll need to fulfil.
To learn more about creating and editing tiers, visit our guide on How to set up paid tiers and benefits.
To set a member tier limit, follow these steps:
- While on your creator view, click on Dashboard from the left sidebar navigation
- Click on the Membership tab on your page
- Click the Edit button for an existing tier or click on the Add tier button to start with a fresh tier
- Scroll down and click on Advanced tier settings
- In the Tier Settings section, click on the Limit the number of members who can join this tier option
- Enter the number of members you’ll permit in the tier
- Click the Save button to confirm your changes
Only limit tiers if the benefits are difficult to deliver to a large number of members – once a tier is full, new members won’t be able to join, which could mean missing out on potential members.
What if a member’s payment fails?
We regularly retry failed membership payments and notify members when a payment hasn’t gone through, allowing them to resolve the issue. Members whose payment retries repeatedly fail for ~30 days will be converted to free members. This way, you’ll be able to stay connected with them while also opening up space in limited-spot tiers. We will continue to show the member as Active in Insights for the time we are retrying the payment. If they become a free member, they’ll also show up as a paid cancelled member.
