Should I mark my page as adult content?
Patreon is a place where all types of artists can express themselves freely. At the same time, we need to ensure that the browsing experience is sensitive to different age groups, cultures and contexts. That’s why we use the term “Adult Content” to denote material that features nudity, dangerous activities or content suitable for audiences aged 18 or older.
Why?
In most cases, we ask creators to mark themselves as adult content when their content deals with subjects only suitable for people aged 18 and older. Please note that adult content must adhere to Patreon’s Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. If you have any questions about your content, feel free to send us a note at guidelines@patreon.com and we'll let you know what we think.
How do I mark my page as containing adult content?
Step 1: Navigate to your creator page editor.
Step 2: Scroll down to adult content.
Step 3: Scroll back up and select Save Preferences after making changes.
How do I make a post "Patrons Only?"
We also ask that all public content on your page be appropriate for all audiences. Content with mature themes must be marked as a Patrons only post. Patrons only posts are hidden from public view so only consenting patrons will have access.
Once your page is marked as adult content, your page won’t be listed on our site. If you ever want your status to change, you will need to contact the Trust and Safety team directly. You can read more about it here: My page has been flagged as adult content, what can I do?
The line can sometimes be blurry when it comes to adult content. Trust and Safety will always contact you when there is a problem with your content or if it no longer complies with our Community Guidelines.
