Patreon Lens is a content sharing feature in the Patreon mobile app that allows you to give your patrons exclusive, behind-the-scenes content. With Lens, you can share videos and photos that disappear after 24 hours.
In this article, we will review:
Make a post
- Click the Make a post icon, which can be found on your Dashboard, Feed, or Account pages
- Select Lens - this will open the camera so you can begin snapping photos and recording videos.
- Allow microphone and camera access to the app to record
- Hold down the white circle button in the bottom center of the app - you’ll know the video is recording when the red line shows up around the button
- If you prefer to upload photos and videos from your camera roll, select the Gallery icon in the bottom left corner to upload saved content
Add text to your Lens post
- Select the Tt icon in the top right corner of the app
- Adjust the color of your font along with the alignment of your text
- Tap the Tt icon again to choose between borders for the text
- Tap the trashcan icon in the top center to delete your text
- When you’re finished adding and editing your text, select Done on the upper right corner
- If you’d like to save a copy of your Lens post to your camera roll, tap on the Save icon on the lower left corner of the app
Set privacy levels to your Lens post
You can adjust the privacy level between public and exclusive patron-only. By default, creators have two options - clips can be sent to all patrons or they can be public. If you only want patrons in specific tiers to view your lens post, you can enable Exclusive Lens Access by following the steps found in this guide.
- Tap on the padlock icon in the bottom center of the app to choose between public or exclusive
- If you’d like to save a copy of your Lens post to your camera roll, tap on the Save icon on the lower left corner of the app
- Once you have set your preferred privacy levels, click the arrow icon on the lower right bottom of the app to publish your Lens post
Delete your lens post
You can only delete a lens post while it is published and viewable on the app.
- Play the clip from your creator profile
- Tap on the three dots on the bottom right corner of the app and select Delete
- You will be asked to confirm or cancel the deletion
