One of the perks of being a patron is commenting on the work that your creators share with you. Comments are a great way to show your love and communicate with your creators and other patrons who support them. In this article we'll go over the following topics:

Commenting on desktop

Replying to a comment (comment thread)
You can leave a comment on another patron, or creator’s comment by clicking the reply icon directly under their comment. Then click into the "Join the conversation" field, and type your message.

Editing or deleting a comment
We’ve all done it before, posted comments we wish we hadn’t or noticed a typo that makes us cringe. As a patron, all of your comments, and likes live in the Comments section of your profile page.
To edit or delete a comment, find your comment on the post, and click the edit comment button below the comment. From here, you can select the option to edit your comment (pencil icon) or delete it (trash can icon).
Commenting on the Patreon app
While logged in to the Patreon app, you can comment on any post you have access to. To leave a comment via the app, click on the speech bubble icon at the bottom of the post.
Type your comment in the "Write a comment..." field, and tap the Post button.
Viewing comments on a post
To view comments for a post, tap where you find # comments, and you'll encounter all of the comments on a post.
Replying to a comment (comment thread)
If you’d like to thread a reply to a comment, you can do so on the app. Find and tap on the comment you’d like to reply to. Tap the reply icon, and tap into the "Write a comment..." field. Once you're happy with your comment, select the Post option.
Editing or deleting your comment on the Patreon app
To edit or delete a comment you've left, go to the post, and tap # comments. Tap on your comment, and then select the three horizontal dots. Choose whether you'd like to edit or delete your comment.
Commenting on mobile web
You can comment on a post via mobile web (i.e. Chrome, or Firefox on your phone) by tapping into the "Write a comment..." field under the post. Once you've typed your comment, hit the carriage Return key on your phone's keyboard will publish your comment.

To thread a reply to a comment, you can do so on the app. Find and tap on the comment you’d like to reply to. Tap the reply icon, and tap into the "Write a comment..." field. Once you're happy with your comment, select the Post option.
Editing or deleting a comment on mobile web
To edit or delete a comment you’ve left find and tap on your comment. Then select the three horizontal dots. To delete the comment, select the trash can icon, and confirm. To edit your comment, select the pencil icon. Once you're done typing, post your edited comment with the carriage Return key on your phone's keyboard.
FAQ
Q: What if I’m no longer a patron of a creator?
A: You can find your comment on your comments page of your profile, however, since you no longer have access to the creator’s content, you’ll not be able to view, or edit the comment.
Q: Is my comment public?
A: No. Your comment can be viewed by your creator, and other patrons who have access to the same post.
Q: How can I make sure that my creator responds to a comment?
A: Unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee that a creator will interact with their comments. Some creators have very active patrons, and comments can be missed. If you want to send your creator a personal note them thanking them, you can send them a direct message
Q: I'm not a patron – can I comment on a creator's public posts?
A: In order to leave comments on a creator's post, you'll need to have an active membership with a creator, and have access to the post.
Q: As a creator can I comment on other creator's posts?
A: Yes! If you are a creator, you'll be able to comment on the creator's posts that you have access to.
