How to enable paperless tax documents

Patreon makes it secure and straightforward for eligible creators to receive their tax statements with electronic 1099-K forms.

Receive your 1099-K electronically

Here’s how to opt into paperless tax statements:

1. While logged into your Patreon account, click on the Settings link from the creator menu list
2. Then, click on Payouts and taxes from the menu. If you haven’t filled out your W-9 or W8-BEN form yet, or if you have to update it, you can do that here as well
3. Once you’ve submitted your tax document, select the option to Receive your 1099-K statements electronically
4. Click the Save button

Moving forward, you can view your earnings and download a pdf of your 1099-K from the Documents tab of your Payouts page.

Please note that your account will have electronic statements from 2018 onwards. Should you need statements from previous years, please send our support team a note, and we’ll be able to assist you further.
