FAQ

  • You can sell posts that are targeting paid members, free members or all members. Public posts will not be available for sale.

  • This is part of your platform plan for memberships. When you sell a post or collection, a platform fee matching your platform plan (Founder, Pro, Premium) is applied to all successfully processed sales.

    • Founders Plan (5%)
    • Pro Plan (8%)
    • Premium Plan (12%)

You can view which platform plan you’re on within your Creator Settings page and read more about all applicable fees in our Creator fees overview.

If you are not on a platform plan, you will default to an 8% platform fee (Pro Plan) when you sell posts or collections for the first time.

  • We’re making it easier to list your membership work for sale, giving your fans a taste of what they can expect from your paid membership. Any posts or collections for sale will also show up in the Shop tab alongside any digital products you are selling so that all of your one-time purchases can be found in one place.

  • When you sell a post or collection from your paid membership, a platform fee matching your platform plan is applied to all successfully processed sales.

When you add digital products (like videos, podcast episodes and images) directly to your Shop, a 5% platform fee is applied to all successfully processed sales.

  • You will only be able to sell and edit a post or collection on the web experience.

  • There are two routes you can take:

    • You can find your top posts by heading to your Insights page > Posts tab. This can give you a good starting point for the posts that your fans are most interested in
    • You know your audience best. If you have work that you know your fans would love and are anticipating, consider setting it for sale to access as a one-time purchase
  • Yes, if you no longer wish to sell the post or collection, you can stop selling at any time – limiting the ability for fans to purchase that post or collection going forward. Fans who have already purchased access will still be able to see it.

  • Yes, you can edit, add or remove work after setting it for sale

    • If you’re adding onto an ongoing collection, fans who have paid for the collection will be able to access future posts added to the collection
    • If you choose to remove content, consider refunding fans or communicating it to them if you are taking content away from them
  • You can start selling your posts or collections at $3.

  • Apple requires us to use their in-app payment system for purchasing digital products on iOS. This means that prices on the iOS app are higher to cover Apple’s App Store fee (30% of each sale). The increased price ensures that you earn the same on a sale across platforms after Apple’s App Store fee is applied. You can read more about this here.

  • Pricing can vary depending on your objectives and the nature of the content. Here are a few strategies:

    • If the content is exclusive or larger in size, consider setting a higher price point. For instance, collections with multiple posts could be priced higher due to their added value
    • Compare the price of your content to your membership tiers. If your goal is to provide a more accessible entry point, you might price the content at the same level or lower than your tier pricing
    • Don’t hesitate to adjust your pricing strategy over time based on fan feedback and sales performance

  • No, any member who already has access to the post through their membership will still be able to access the content published to their tier. If you’re selling content at a higher tier, members from lower tiers will see the option to buy access or upgrade their membership.

  • Yes! You can set multiple posts/collections for sale within the new Library page on the web. Then, choose the posts you’d like to sell, click Edit price in the upper right-hand edit menu and set your price for all the work selected. • Consider telling your free members and off-platform fans that they can now purchase your work as a one-time purchase or unlock it through your membership. It can be as simple as a text post targeted to your free members or sharing Promo cards on your other accounts for a more visual effect.
