This article serves as a guide to both members and non-members who have purchased or are considering purchasing from a creator who sells their work on Patreon.
Purchasing
Browsing the shop
To visit a creator’s shop on Patreon, you can either:
- Go to their creator page and click on the Shop tab located at the top
- Directly access through the link: patreon.com/[creator]/shop — (Make sure to insert the creator’s name in the [creator] section of the URL)
You can use the Sort button at the top left corner to filter the products to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. If you’re logged in and a paid member of that creator, you can see which items you get for free as part of your existing membership with that creator - Alternatively, you can also find all products included in your membership on your Purchases page.
Digital products
You can purchase digital products like videos, podcast episodes, images, and other files directly, whether you’re a member or not, through a creator’s Shop tab.
If you want to know more about a specific product, clicking on it will open a Product details page. Each product has its own dedicated product page where you can check information such as
- Price
- File type and size
- Video and Audio files: You can check the file stream length, and, if available, you can also preview a clip of the content before purchasing it
- Description of the product
- Other products in the creator’s shop
Posts and collections
In addition to digital products, creators may also offer individual posts and collections for sale. Posts and collections available for sale will be visible in the creator's Shop tab alongside other digital products. You can also purchase these directly from the specific post or collection on the creator’s page.
How to purchase
Mobile app purchasing on the iOS app is rolling out to fans in select countries and currencies. Visit our iOS in-app purchases: country & currency page for more information about where iOS in-app purchases are currently supported. Fans in other countries will be able to browse and view products on the mobile app but will only be able to purchase on the desktop or mobile web.
You can purchase through either the Computer or the Patreon app and access them in the Purchases tab, regardless of where the purchase was initially made.

- Click on the Buy now button next to the product you want to purchase
- You’ll be directed to a checkout page. Since you need a Patreon account to complete a purchase, you’ll be asked to either create an account or log in during the checkout process
- The Order Summary will give you a full breakdown of your purchase, including any sales tax that might be applicable – Read more about Sales Tax on Patreon
- If you have a saved payment method, you can use it to checkout. If you don't have a saved payment method, you'll be prompted to add one to complete the purchase
- You can check what payment methods and currencies are currently accepted in our Patreon currency settings article
- After completing the checkout, you can immediately view the item. You will also receive an email receipt with the link to your product

- Tap on the creator’s profile image to access the creator's home screen
- Tap the Shop tab
- Choose the product you want to purchase and tap the Buy Now button at the bottom of the screen
- You can only purchase products through the iOS app if you’re located in the US or Canada. If you’re located in another country, you can still browse creator shops on the iOS app, but when trying to purchase, you’ll see a “This product isn’t available in your country” message on the screen
- After tapping Buy Now, you’ll be directed to the checkout process:
- If you’re on Android: You'll find a payment details screen where you can check your payment method and your Order Summary
- If you’re on iOS: You’ll go through the native Apple store purchasing flow, and you’ll use the payment method associated with your Apple account
- After completing the checkout, you can immediately view the item. You will also receive an email receipt with the link to your product
- If you purchased on iOS, you will get a receipt from Apple with a Manage link that leads to your Apple App Store purchase page
Accessing my purchases
Products you’ve purchased and have access to as part of a membership will automatically be available to you in your Purchases tab. Here’s how to access the Purchases tab:

- Log in to your Patreon account
- Once logged in, navigate to the Purchases tab. You can find this tab on the left-side navigation menu
- Alternatively, you can also access your purchase by clicking on the provided link in your receipt email

- Log in to your Patreon account
- Once logged in, navigate to the Purchases tab
- Alternatively, you can also access your purchase by clicking on the provided link in your receipt email
Viewing my Purchase History
If you want to keep track of your purchases and access your receipts, you can easily access your purchase history by following these steps:

- Go to your Settings on the left navigation
- Click on More and select Billing history
- You can filter by Purchases to view your product-related billing history and receipts
- If you want to download a receipt for your purchases, click on the Receipt link below Payment

- Click on the menu in the top-left corner and go to your Settings
- Select Billing history
- You can filter by Purchases to view your product-related billing history and receipts
- If you want to download a receipt for your purchases, click on the Receipt link below Payment
Purchased products becoming unavailable
If a product is unavailable in your Purchases tab or when you visit the product page, it was either deleted by the creator or did not meet our Community or Benefit Guidelines and cannot be accessed on Patreon. Products labeled as unavailable in a creator’s shop cannot be purchased.
We work with creators when products do not meet our Community Guidelines; however, there is no guarantee that the product will become available again. Please refer to the section below for more information about contacting a creator if a product becomes unavailable or is deleted.
Requesting a refund on a purchase
If you have any questions or need to request a refund for a digital product, you can easily get in touch with the creator by following these steps:

- Go to your Purchases tab. You can find this tab on the left side navigation menu
- Locate the specific item you would like to inquire about or request a refund for
- Click on the product
- Click on the three dots button in the top right corner
- Select Message creator — Write your message to the creator — we recommend including your Order ID from your receipt in your message
- Once you have finished writing your message, click the send button to forward it to the creator

- Go to your Purchases tab
- Locate the specific item you would like to inquire about or request a refund for
- Click on the product
- On the product page, click on the …(three dots) button located in the top right corner.
- Click on Message Creator
- Write your message to the creator. Once you have finished writing your message, click the send button to forward it to the creator
Reporting content
Keeping Patreon’s community safe is important to us, so we ask that you report any product that you believe does not meet our Community Guidelines. Here’s how you can do it:

- Click on a product from the creator’s shop or, if you purchased it already, from your Purchases tab from the left navigation
- You’ll find a three dots button button in the upper right-hand corner
- Click on Report. You’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be asked to provide a reason for the report

- Tap on a product from the creator’s shop or, if you purchased it already, from the Purchases tab
- You’ll find a three dots button button in the upper right-hand corner
- Click on Report. You’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be asked to provide a reason for the report
Trust and Safety might not directly share the result of their investigation or any follow-up actions that they might consider taking as a result of your report. If a reported product does not meet Patreon’s Community Guidelines, the creator will be notified, and the product will be hidden from their shop so it is no longer available for purchase. If you purchased a product that has since been hidden, it will be unavailable in your Purchases tab and may ultimately be deleted.

No, anyone can purchase from a creator’s shop. The only requirement is that you create a Patreon account.

Accepted payment methods and currencies are the same as those currently supported for paid memberships. You can read more in member currency settings.

We are required by law to apply sales tax/VAT to purchases made in certain jurisdictions. You can see a breakdown of where we’re collecting sales tax from and what those tax rates are on Sales Tax on Patreon.
You can see more details about your payment and any tax paid at any time on your Billing history.

A product may be unavailable for a couple of reasons:
- The creator has unpublished the product: if you already purchased the product, you can find it in your Purchases tab
- The product did not meet our Community Guidelines, or it was deleted by the creator: the product is no longer accessible on Patreon
Please note that products that are marked as unavailable in a creator’s shop cannot be purchased.

Prices on the iOS app are higher by default to account for Apple's App Store fees, charged by Apple. This ensures that creators earn at least the same amount on a product sale as they do if you purchase on the web.
