Let’s face it, taxes can be complicated– we aren’t legally able to give you any advice on how to file your taxes, but we’re happy to answer basic FAQs about what being a creator may mean for your taxes.
Important note: If you have more specific questions, we recommend reaching out to your tax advisor. Our team is unable to offer any advice on how to file your taxes.
Does Patreon withhold any taxes from my payments?
No! Patreon doesn’t withhold any taxes from your funds earned on Patreon. You can see your earnings by visiting the Income section of your page.
Is the money I earned from Patreon “taxable income”?
In many jurisdictions, the money you receive from your patrons is considered taxable income.
If you are a legally recognized not-for-profit company (for example, a USA 501(C)(3) charity), then you might not need to pay tax on your Patreon income. A local tax advisor would know for certain, so we encourage you to reach out to one for additional information.
