At Patreon, we recognize the important role that a unique campaign vanity and page URL plays in a creator’s brand. Vanities help creators engage with their audience, grow their online presence, and drive their creative business forward. This policy outlines how Patreon manages campaign vanities to ensure fairness, consistency, and accountability, while promoting the continued growth of our platform and community.
Disputes and Vanity Reassignments
From time to time, a dispute may arise when a prospective creator seeks to claim a vanity that’s already in use by another creator. In such cases, Patreon will evaluate the situation thoroughly and thoughtfully. If a current creator is actively using a vanity, we will consider their engagement on Patreon and their broader off-platform brand presence in our decision-making. Vanities from inactive or underutilized Patreon accounts may be reassigned, pending our review.
If Patreon determines that reassigning a vanity will benefit the platform and community, we will do so in a way that prioritizes fairness and transparency. We will notify the impacted creator ahead of time. On a case-by-case basis, we will consider additional ways to mitigate harm to a creator's earnings and community when their vanity has been reassigned.
Our Commitment to Fairness
At Patreon, we are committed to ensuring that vanity assignments are handled fairly, transparently, and in a way that supports the growth of our community. We aim to provide creators with the tools they need to succeed while maintaining a level playing field for all.
If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or your vanity, please don’t hesitate to contact Patreon Product Support for assistance.
