If you no longer want your Patreon page connected to a custom domain, you can disconnect it at any time. When you do, your page will automatically fall back to your original patreon.com/creatorname URL, and fans will still be able to reach you there.
What disconnecting does
- Removes your domain from the Custom domain section of your Page details
- Redirects all traffic back to your default patreon.com/creatorname link
- Ends any active sessions on your custom domain (fans will stay logged in at patreon.com)
- Disconnecting only changes the URL where fans access your page. It won’t delete any of your posts or content
How to disconnect your domain
- From your creator profile, click on Dashboard in the left sidebar menu
- Once in the Home tab, select the … icon close to the Edit page button and select Page details
- In the Basics tab, scroll to the Custom domain section
- Find your active domain and click (…) more > Disconnect domain
- Select Disconnect to confirm
Your domain will immediately stop pointing to Patreon, and fans will see your patreon.com/creatorname page instead.
After disconnecting
- Redirects: Your original Patreon URL continues to work, but links to your custom domain will no longer resolve
- Reconnecting: You can reconnect the same domain later, but you’ll need to repeat the DNS setup steps
- Switching domains: To use a new custom domain, disconnect the current one and then follow the steps in Connect a custom domain to your Patreon page
- Reusing the domain elsewhere: If you plan to use your domain for something else, update or remove the DNS records at your domain provider
