Creators are now required to combine profiles
As part of Patreon's Network Discovery updates, creators and members will gradually see a more unified experience across Patreon. That means some steps in this article may look different depending on whether your accounts are already combined.
If you created your Patreon account recently, you may already have a single profile. If you don't see a prompt to combine, this doesn't apply to you.
Who does this apply to
- Creators (including creators who are also members and support other creators): Combining accounts creates a single identity for both creating and membership activities. You can combine your accounts now through July 6, 2026 (previously June 30, 2026). Starting on July 6, 2026, combining will be required
- Members-only (no creator page): You may notice navigation updates as these changes roll out. Once the creators you support join the network, you'll also get access to a new feed. No action is needed from your side
What may look different for creators after combining profiles
- One identity: Your name and profile image are the same everywhere, whether you're creating or interacting as a member
- One inbox: Notifications and messages are unified in a single place
- Updated navigation on desktop and mobile: You may see updated labels and entry points that reflect a single, combined experience, including fewer profile-switching steps

When you subscribe to a creator, purchase a membership or product on Patreon, or otherwise engage with a creator — even if you are a creator yourself — you are joining a Patreon community associated with that creator. This article details what information may be visible to fellow community members.
This information may be displayed as part of your community profile, which is visible to fellow community members, and may include more information than your public profile, which is publicly accessible to anyone in the world. As of May 27th, 2026, Patreon offers all creators more ways to manage how your memberships and activity show up across Patreon. As part of this, we're updating some defaults around membership and activity visibility, and replacing the Full public profile and Community profile settings with new, more granular controls.
- When you take actions on Patreon — such as commenting on a post, liking a post or message, joining a chat room, or sending a chat message — members of those communities can see your community profile. The following information is always visible:
- Your full profile name — this is the same name displayed on your public profile. You can use a pseudonym if you prefer not to use your real name. You can change this from your Basics settings
- Your profile image — this is the same image displayed on your public profile. If you don't upload one, the Patreon logo will be used. You can upload an image anytime from your Basics settings
- When you joined Patreon — the date you created your account
- Your bio — If you've added one, it will appear on both your public and community profile. If you haven't added a bio, it won't appear on either. You can add or customize your bio from your Basics settings
- Your connected social media accounts — the same links displayed on your public profile. You can toggle these off at any time in your Social links settings. If you haven't connected any, this information won't appear on your profile

Yes — you have options depending on your account type:
If you're a creator, you can control whether your memberships and activity are visible both publicly and to fellow community members at any time via the Membership & activity visibility setting in your Privacy settings. If you're a fan/member (no creator page), you can manage your visibility through your Full public profile and Community profile settings in your Privacy settings.
Note that only creators will see the new membership & activity visibility settings for now; fans will continue to see the options to enable or disable their Full public profile and Community profile settings.
- Patreon is continuing to build out community features. In the future, the following information may also be visible to fellow community members:
- A community-specific name, profile image, and bio
- When you joined a specific community
- Your membership tier and purchases within a community
- Shared communities and shared chats with other members
- Your community status, including any roles, awards, or badges
- Your membership status with other creators
- Your activity on other creators' content
- As a creator, you also have a community profile that your members can see as you interact with them in your community. Your community profile contains the same information as described above, but will also always show an indicator that you are the creator of that community — this cannot be turned off.
