Find creators on Patreon

  • Updated

This article explains how to find creators on Patreon using the Explore tab. Whether you’re searching for a specific creator or discovering new ones, this guide will help you navigate the Explore tab and use its features to find creators that match your interests.

How to navigate the Explore tab

The Explore tab makes it easier to discover creators you’ll enjoy. Creators are grouped into hundreds of different genres and niches based on their content type and descriptions. The Explore tab provides a unique, personalised experience that reflects your memberships, interests and past activity, so you can easily discover content suited to you.

The Explore tab is accessible across all platforms – Web, iOS and Android – so you can explore new creators from anywhere, whether on your computer or mobile device.

The Explore tab is divided into various sections to help you find creators based on different factors:

  • Search: Type a creator’s name or topic in the search bar to quickly find what you’re looking for or discover something new
  • Topics: At the top of the page, you’ll see taglines related to your interests. Clicking on them takes you to a page featuring top and trending creators in those topics
  • Recently visited: This section helps you easily return to creators you’ve recently explored. You can also tap More More.jpg next to their names to Remove them from history
  • Creators for you: Find other creators based on your memberships
Popular this week: Stay updated on what’s popular. This section highlights creators who are currently trending in the community
  • Explore topics: Browse through a wide variety of topics and genres. From niche interests to broader categories, this section makes it easy to dive into different types of content that might spark your interest
  • New on Patreon: Discover fresh creators who have recently joined the platform. This section showcases up-and-coming talent, giving you a chance to support and follow new creators early in their journey
  • Top creators: Based on your past activity, memberships and browsing behaviour, this section suggests creators that align with your interests. Whether it’s creators you’ve recently viewed or those in similar categories, the Explore tab curates a list of creators just for you

If you’re not interested in a particular creator, simply click More More.jpg next to their name and select Don’t show again to remove them from your suggestions. You can also choose to Report this creator if you believe their content violates our guidelines.

Discovering Adult/18+ creators on Patreon

Fans can now discover both all-audiences and Adult/18+ creators on Patreon. To see Adult/18+ creators, you need to be over the age of 18. We began rolling out this capacity in November and will continue to gradually roll it out for all members. If you’re over 18 years old, follow these steps to see Adult/18+ creators in Search and Explore:

  1. While logged in on desktop or mobile web, click on the Settings button from the left navigation menu
  2. Click the Account link from the menu bar
  3. Scroll down to the Adult creators section

  4. Toggle on the option to See 18+ creators
  5. You’ll see a pop-up that asks you to confirm that you are over 18 years old
  6. Once you have confirmed that you’re over 18 years old, you’ll be able to see Adult/18+ creators in the app. These creators will be shown with a specific 18+ badge.

Viewing Adult/18+ creators while searching

You may also update your settings when searching for creators. Below the search bar, you’ll see a link to Show 18+ creators. When you click on this link, a pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that you are over 18 years old

You can change these settings at any time by going back to your Account settings and toggling off the ability to see Adult/18+ creators in the app. If you are already a member of an Adult/18+ creator’s page, then you do not need to update your settings. Adult/18+ creators will show up automatically.
