Combine your creator and fan profiles into a single identity

  • Updated

On Patreon, if you haven’t joined the Network experience, you currently have two separate profiles: a creator profile for your page and everything you publish, and a member profile for the memberships you hold and the activity you have as a fan elsewhere on Patreon.

Combining these into a single identity gives you access to Patreon’s network features, including Quips, collaboration posts and a new Home feed for creators who make content suitable for all audiences.

The Home feed is currently only available in English.

Starting on 28 April, creators who make content suitable for all audiences can combine. Adult/18+ creators can combine starting on 27 May. Ready to get a single identity? Combine your profiles now.

Adult/18+ creators will get access to collaboration posts immediately after combining, with Quips and Native Video rolling out in the coming months. All creators will be required to combine profiles by 30 June 2026.

With a combined profile, you can manage your page and interact across Patreon as yourself (a creator), without switching between profiles. Your existing creator page, members and posts don’t change.

Want the bigger picture on how discovery is evolving? Read “Go get discovered!” on Patreon for Creators. Currently, Patreon for Creators is only available in English.

Key info before you combine

Combining your profiles is a one-time, irreversible change, and your public display name and profile image will default to your creator name and creator profile image. Here’s what stays the same:

  • Your login credentials don’t change
  • Your creator page URL doesn’t change
  • Paid members will continue to see your creator posts exactly as they do now

Unlock the benefits of a single identity

  • Access to Patreon’s network features: Combining your profiles gives you access to Patreon’s network, including Quips, collaboration posts and a new Home feed.
  • Get discovered through your activity: When you comment or engage in other communities, your creator page is visible to new fans, turning everyday activity into discovery opportunities.
  • Interact with other creators as yourself: No more switching to a fan profile to engage. You show up as your creator identity across Patreon.
  • Find and follow creators more easily: A unified navigation makes it simpler to explore Patreon and discover creators in your space.
  • One consistent identity: Your creator and fan activity lives in one place.

What happens after you combine?

The most important changes that occur when you combine your profiles are:

  • All existing memberships you might have as a fan will be displayed under your creator name
  • Your past activity (comments, chats, messages, etc.) will be updated to use your creator name
  • Any future activity across your memberships will be displayed under your creator name
  • When you combine your profiles, your memberships won’t be listed publicly, and you’ll always have control over the visibility of your memberships to others
  • Your activity on public posts may show up in the feeds of other creators and fans, helping you get discovered
    • This includes likes and comments on public posts, as well as activity on members-only posts that are visible to other members in the same community, which means people can naturally discover you through the communities you engage with as part of the network experience

  • Your comment settings for new public posts and Quips will default to “Anyone can comment”, which helps boost your content in the feed. You can adjust this at any time in the post or Quip editor. Once you have changed it, your preference will be saved for future posts. This doesn’t apply to paid-access posts, which keep their existing comment settings
  • Your navigation will be streamlined. See the tabs below for what the experience looks like on desktop and the app

Once your profiles have been combined, give it about ten minutes, as your changes will still be taking effect. After that, reopen the app or refresh your browser on desktop to get access to Patreon’s network features. It may take some time for your chats and direct messages to refresh and appear after combining. They’ll load automatically.

If you have any concerns about past activities on your fan profile, such as memberships, comments and chats, you can wait until 27 May, when we’ll roll out controls to help you delete, hide or cancel any activity and current memberships.

A unified inbox

After combining your creator and fan profiles, you’ll be able to access all your chats and direct messages from a unified inbox.

Your unified inbox has two tabs:

You’ll be able to start a new group chat for your fans, whether you’re in your memberships or your Patreon inbox.

How to combine profiles

Combining profiles takes less than a minute, and your profiles are combined immediately after you have selected “combine profiles”.

You’ll see a pop-up when you sign in on Patreon, and you can confirm the change. If you decide to combine later, you’ll see a banner and notifications that you can use to combine. You can also combine your profiles directly.

Timeline

Date What happens
28 April All audience creators can combine profiles to unlock access to new discovery features.
27 May Adult/18+ creators can combine profiles to unlock access to collaboration posts and be prioritised for the rollout of Patreon Video and Quips.

In late May, we’ll introduce new controls and options for creators to protect their privacy, as combining profiles will become required for all creators. These controls will include the ability to delete all activity, cancel memberships and limit the visibility of current memberships and activity. We’ll be in touch as these controls roll out.
30 June Combining profiles becomes required for all creators moving forward.

Combining profiles is required by 30 June 2026. Creators who still haven’t combined profiles by then need to do so to keep using Patreon as usual. What happens on that date depends on your account:

  • If you have no existing memberships or past activity, Patreon will automatically combine your profiles
  • If you have existing memberships or past activity, you’ll need to decide how to handle them before combining, including deleting past activity or cancelling existing memberships. Until you do, you won’t be able to use Patreon as usual

For Team accounts, the primary creator account is the one that opts in to combining profiles and network access. Teammate accounts remain separate and don’t change when the primary creator combines. Team accounts can’t share Quips.

Your privacy after combining

Combining your profiles changes how your identity appears on Patreon. Here’s what specifically changes and what stays private:

What changes:

  • Your public display name becomes your creator name across Patreon
  • Past comments, group chat messages and other activities you made under your fan profile will be updated to show your creator name
  • Your activity on public posts, such as likes and comments, may appear in the Home feed for other creators and fans to see as part of the Network experience

What stays private:

  • The visibility of your existing memberships stays the same. By default, other Patreon users can’t see a list of creators you support unless you choose to change your membership visibility settings

Future privacy controls

From 27 May, Patreon will introduce new privacy controls for all creators, giving you more ways to manage what’s visible after combining. Here’s what you’ll be able to control, regardless of whether or not you’ve combined profiles:

  • Customise visibility: Choose which memberships or activity are visible on a per-creator basis
  • Hide all activity from feed: Prevent your likes and comments from appearing in discovery feeds

Creators who haven’t yet combined their profiles will also have access to two additional one-time options before combining:

  • Delete all previous activity: Remove past interactions before you combine
  • Cancel memberships: Cancel all or selected memberships before combining

Adult/18+ creators

If you create content for Adult/18+ audiences, the timeline and available features are slightly different.

Starting 27 May, Adult/18+ creators can start to combine profiles. Before you combine, you’ll see options to manage privacy and past activity, including cancelling memberships and deleting past interactions and chats. After you have combined, you’ll get access to collaboration posts straight away.

Quips and Patreon Video are coming to Adult/18+ creators in the coming months. At first, Quips will be visible only to your members and to any fans who visit your page and are over 18 years old.

Creators who combine profiles before 30 June may be prioritised as Patreon rolls out Quips and Patreon Video. You’ll receive an email when you get access.

Combining profiles will be required by 30 June for Adult/18+ creators, on the same terms as all audience creators.

FAQ

  • Combining profiles is required for all creators by 30 June 2026. From 28 April, all creators who make content suitable for all audiences can choose to combine profiles at any time. Adult/18+ creators will be invited to opt in starting on 27 May. See the timeline section for details on what happens to your account if you haven’t combined by then. If you don’t take action before 30 June, Patreon will combine your profiles, keeping all the existing memberships, but your past activity, such as comments and chats, will be deleted.
  • Yes, you’ll be invited to combine your profiles starting on 27 May. From that date, all creators who haven’t combined yet, including those who make work suitable for all audiences, will also have access to privacy controls, such as deleting past interactions, hiding activity or cancelling existing memberships before combining.

The features available to Adult/18+ creators after combining differ from those available to all-audiences creators. See the Adult/18+ creators section for the full details.

  • You’ll be prompted to combine your profiles in several places across Patreon. On desktop, look for the banner in your navigation, on your home page, in notifications or in the post creation flow. On the app, you’ll receive a push notification and can also find the prompt in your notifications and on your home page. You can also combine your profiles directly.
  • If you choose to combine before 30 June, it happens immediately after you confirm. You’ll see a pop-up in the app letting you know your profiles have been combined and what’s changed.

If you haven’t combined by 30 June, what happens next depends on your account:

    • Patreon will automatically combine profiles for creators with no existing memberships or past activity
    • Creators with existing memberships or past activity will need to decide how to handle them before they can combine
    • If you take no action, your membership will be kept, but your past activity, such as comments and chats, will be deleted once Patreon automatically combines your profiles
  • If you haven’t combined your profiles yet, you’ll see prompts to do so in several places across Patreon. On desktop, find the banner in your navigation, on the home page, in notifications or in the post creation flow. In the app, check for a push notification, as well as the prompt in your notifications and home page. If you don’t see that option, your profiles may already be combined, or the combine flow may not be available to your account yet. After you have combined your profiles, you’ll also see an in-product confirmation and updated navigation in your Patreon account.
  • From 27 May, all creators who haven’t combined yet, including those who make content suitable for all audiences, will have access to privacy controls to manage past activity before combining. Specifically, you can cancel any memberships you hold as a fan and delete past activity and chats. This gives you control over what carries over before you combine.
  • You don’t need to combine straight away. You have until 30 June to combine at your own pace. If you want more time to review your past activity before combining, you can wait until 27 May, when additional privacy controls become available, including the ability to delete past activity and chats. There is no effect on your existing content or your members’ access in the meantime.
  • Combining profiles doesn’t impact the visibility of your existing memberships. Your activity on public posts will be visible in the Home feed to other fans and creators. This helps more people discover you through the creators you subscribe to and the communities you engage with. As we roll out, we’ll give you more ways to manage what’s visible, including the ability to hide activity and memberships.
  • Here’s what to expect once your profiles have been combined:
    • Memberships: Combining profiles doesn’t affect the visibility of your existing memberships. You can control whether memberships are visible in your settings from 27 May.
    • Past activity: Comments, chats and messages you made under your fan profile will be updated to show your creator name. The content itself isn’t redistributed or newly surfaced – only the name displayed on it changes
    • Activity in the feed: Your activity on public posts, such as comments and likes, may be visible to others on Patreon as part of the Network experience
  • From 27 May, all creators will get new tools to manage their privacy on Patreon. You’ll be able to customise visibility on a per-creator basis and prevent your likes and comments from appearing in discovery feeds. Creators who haven’t yet combined will also have one-time options to delete past activity and cancel memberships before combining. For full details, visit the Future privacy controls section above.
  • No. Your members’ experience doesn’t change. Paid members will continue to see your posts exactly as they do now.
  • If you manage a team account, the primary creator account is the one that combines profiles. Teammate accounts remain separate and don’t change when the primary creator combines. Team accounts will maintain their separate identities.
  • In the Patreon mobile app, you don’t need to switch views after combining, and you’re always in your single-identity view. On desktop, you’ll still move between creator and fan views from the bottom-left corner, but you’re doing it as one single identity rather than switching between separate profiles.
  • The Patreon network is a set of features that helps fans find creators beyond those they already follow, and helps creators reach new audiences on Patreon. For a full overview of the network features, see the Patreon network guide.
  • Quips are a lightweight, public type of post that appears in the Home feed. It’s a quick way to share an update or engage with your community without creating a full post. For more details, visit our guide on Sharing Quips.
