Quips are lightweight, public posts that appear in the Home feed for existing and potential fans. They're perfect for sharing quick updates, behind-the-scenes content or snippets from your paid work.
Quips are available to creators who have combined their creator and fan profiles and are categorised as suitable for all audiences. For Adult/18+ creators, Quips will roll out in the coming months and will initially be visible only to your members. If you haven't combined yet, visit our guide on Combine your creator and fan profiles into a single identity to get started.
Key things to know about Quips
Quips are always public: All Quips are public by default and must remain public. This is what makes them discoverable. They appear in the Home feed for fans who may not know you yet, serving as an entry point to your page, in addition to your members.
Anyone on Patreon can engage: By default, anyone with a Patreon account can comment on your Quips. This is one of the main ways Quips drives engagement and helps new fans discover your page. You can adjust comment settings when creating a Quip to limit replies to members only or turn them off entirely.
Availability: You can create Quips on both desktop and the Patreon mobile app. On desktop, they appear in the Quips tab on a creator's page, while in the app, they can be viewed on the Home feed, memberships tab and creator home page. This ensures you can Quip wherever you go, making it easy to stay connected on all your devices.
Quips stay on your page: Quips appear in your fans' Home feed and on your creator page under a dedicated tab. Older Quips don't disappear. They remain visible on your creator page even after they stop appearing in the feed. Each Quip also has its own individual page. Click into any Quip to read its comments, likes and reshares, and scroll to the bottom to find related posts and Quips you might be interested in.
What you can include: Quips can include text, images or short videos. For media specifications, see the Technical details section below.
Members are notified about Quips: Your members receive in-app notifications for Quips, not emails. They can adjust their notification settings at any time. For a step-by-step guide, visit the notification section in the Navigate the Patreon app as a member guide.

- No, it's not possible to schedule Quips.
- Visit your creator's page on desktop or the app and select the Quips tab. For full steps, see the How to see Quips section above. To find Quips from other creators that don't appear in your feed, you can search for the creator and visit their page on desktop or the app.
-
Editing Quips is currently only available on the Patreon mobile app.
Follow the steps below to identify which Quip you want to edit or delete:
- Go to your creator's page on desktop or tap your profile image on the bottom right corner of the app, and then select View page
- Next, select the Quips tab from the navigation bar
- Scroll through all the Quips you've posted
-
Once you have the Quip that you want to edit or delete, click the three dots on the bottom right of the Quip and select which action you'd like to take
-
Deleting a Quip is permanent and can't be undone. Once deleted, the Quip is removed from the Home feed and your creator page immediately. All comments, likes, and reshares associated with it are permanently lost.
Fans who previously liked, commented on or shared the Quip won't be able to view it. In some cases, fans may temporarily still see an older notification or link referencing the Quip, but the Quip itself won't be accessible once deletion has fully processed.
- Right now, team accounts can't publish Quips on behalf of a creator. To post a Quip, you'll need to use the primary creator account. We're working on adding functionality to allow team accounts to post on behalf of the creator soon.
- For each Quip, you'll be able to see the number of likes, comments and reposts. You can see this on the Quip itself. Additionally, if you head to Post Insights, you'll be able to see Impressions (total number of times the Quip has appeared across Patreon) and Seen (total number of times the Quip was seen for longer than 3 seconds across Patreon).
-
In the feed, fans can instantly join as a free member of your Patreon page if they see your Quip in their feed. They can do this simply by clicking Join in the top right of the image below. This Join button exists directly in the fan's feed and on the Quip itself.
- At this time, there's no option to opt out of having your Quips appear in the Home feed. All Quips are public by default and are designed to be discoverable. If you want to limit who can engage with your Quips, you can adjust your comment settings when creating a Quip to restrict replies to members only or turn them off entirely.
- If fans reach out about Quips notifications, they can adjust them in their notification settings. They can turn off notifications for Quips from creators they don't yet follow and adjust notifications for a specific creator. For a step-by-step guide, they can visit the notification section in the Navigate the Patreon app as a member guide.
