Guidelines for Adult/18+ creators age verifying with alternative (non government-issued) IDs

  • Updated

Note: We strongly encourage Adult/18+ creators with access to a government-issued ID to make use of our secure, Jumio-powered verification process available in your page settings, which only takes a few minutes. Approval wait times for the verification of alternative (non government-issued) IDs may take many months depending on volume.

Every alternative (non government-issued) ID document you submit must:

  • Be written in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French or Italian.
  • Be a photo or scanned copy that presents clearly and without glare, with all four corners visible and font large enough to read.
  • (If an expiration date is listed), be valid as of the date the document is submitted.
  • Show the exact same name* as those on the other submitted documents.

*We understand names may have legally changed in the course of life; those creators should additionally submit notarized paperwork (e.g. marriage certificate, divorce decree, certificate of naturalization showing a new name, a signed court order for a name change) to account for the name differences.

Adult/18+ creators age verifying with alternative (non government-issued) IDs must submit identification documents from each of the following lists, including:

  • One (1) document from List A and
  • Two (2) documents from List B and
  • One (1) document from List C.

List A

Submit one (1) document from this list, which must show both your name and date of birth. The name must match the names on documents from Lists B and C, unless you submit additional documentation attesting to a name change (see above under “All submitted documents must”).

  • Hospital record of birth
  • Report of birth abroad
  • Federal or State census record
  • Final adoption decree (as adopter or adoptee)

Submit two (2) documents from this list, both of which must show your name. Do not submit two documents of the exact same type (e.g. two electric bills), but two different documents under the same category (e.g. two utility bills — one electric and one internet) are acceptable. You may mask any information on the documents besides the elements listed below that must remain visible. The names must match the names on documents from Lists A and C, unless you submit additional documentation attesting to a name change (see above under “All submitted documents must”).

List C

Submit a photo of yourself/selfie holding one (1) document from this list, which must show both your name and photo. The name on the photo ID you are holding must match the names on documents from Lists A and B, unless you submit additional documentation attesting to a name change (see Bullet 4 under “All submitted documents must:”).
