Listen to audio on the Patreon app

  • Updated

The Patreon mobile app offers a range of features that can take your listening and viewing experience to the next level. Download the app and tap on the Play tab to start enjoying the latest content from your memberships or pick up where you left off.

Play tab

The Play tab PlaybackPlayButton.png is where you can find all audio and video posts for easy access on the go. There are three different sections within the Play tab:

  • Up next(Android) or All (iOS): All available audio and video posts are listed here in chronological order by date posted
  • Downloads: Audio posts that you have downloaded within the app appear in this tab for offline access
  • Purchases: Audio posts purchased from a creator’s shop appear in this tab

You can access the More.png Menu located at the top right corner of each post. This will bring out a drop-down menu with different actions to choose from, including the ability to Download (Audio only), Mark as played, View creator page, and Share.

To start watching a video or listening to an audio post, tap the play button. You can minimize the player to continue enjoying the content while browsing other areas of the app.

Audio Player controls

There are several ways you can interact with our audio player to enhance your listening experience:

  • Resume listening: When you pause the player in the app and come back, your position is saved so you can resume playback right where you left off
  • Skip forward and back: By tapping on the forward or backward skip button, you can easily skip ahead or go back in 15-second intervals
  • Adjust the audio scrubber: You can move the playback position forward or backward by dragging the slider left or right or by tapping on a specific point on the timeline of the audio
  • Adjust playback speed: The Patreon podcast player offers different playback speeds (0.25x to 2x), allowing you to adjust the speed to your liking
  • Casting Audio from a mobile device: You can cast audio using iOS Airplay if you’re on an Apple device, or Chromecast if you’re using Android. If there are no compatible devices nearby, the cast option is grayed out.
  • Sleep timer: You can set a timer for the audio file to stop playing after a set amount of time
