As of July 6, 2026, all creators are required to combine profiles into a single identity.
Creators who haven’t yet combined their profiles into a single identity have two profiles: one profile for their creator page and another profile for the memberships you hold as a fan. When you combine these profiles, they merge into a single identity, and any past member activity, such as likes, comments, chats, and DMs, will be updated to reflect your creator name.
By combining, you get access to Patreon's network features, including Quips, collaboration posts, and a new all-audiences Home feed (currently only available in English). Adult/18+ creators will get access to collaboration posts immediately after combining, with Quips and Native Video rolling out in the coming months.
All creators, including Adult/18+ creators, are required to combine their profiles. Starting July 6th, you'll need a combined profile to access Patreon. If you haven't combined your creator and fan profiles by then, you won’t be able to use Patreon, including posting and receiving payouts, until you complete the process.
If you still haven't combined your profiles by August 2026, we'll automatically do so for you. Check the timeline section below for all the details. Ready to get a single identity? Combine your profiles now.
With a combined profile, you can manage your page and interact across Patreon as yourself (a creator), without switching between profiles. Your existing creator page, members, and posts don't change.
Want the bigger picture on how discovery is evolving? Read "Go get discovered!" on Patreon for Creators. Currently, Patreon for Creators is only available in English.
Key info before you combine
Combining your profiles is a one-time, irreversible change, and your public display name and profile image will default to your creator name and creator profile image.
Here's what stays the same:
- Your login credentials don't change
- Your creator page URL doesn't change
- Paid members will continue to see your creator posts exactly as they do now
Unlock the benefits of a single identity
- Access to Patreon's network features: Combining your profiles gives you access to Patreon's network, including Quips, Collaboration posts, and a new Home feed.
- Get discovered through your activity: When you comment or engage in other communities, your creator page is visible to new fans, turning everyday activity into discovery opportunities.
- Interact with other creators as yourself: No more switching to a fan profile to engage. You show up as your creator identity across Patreon.
- Find and follow creators more easily: A unified navigation makes it simpler to explore Patreon and discover creators in your space.
- One consistent identity: Your creator and fan activity live in one place.
What happens after you combine?
The most important changes that occur when you combine your profiles are:
- All existing memberships you have as a fan will display under your creator name
- Your past activity (comments, chats, and messages, etc) will update to use your creator name
- Any future activity across your memberships will display under your creator name
- When you combine your profiles, you'll always have control over the visibility of your memberships to others
- A list of the creators you subscribe to may appear on your creator page, and you can hide this at any time in your Page settings
-
Your activity on public posts may show up in the feeds of other creators and fans, helping you get discovered
- This includes likes and comments on public posts, as well as activity on members-only posts that are visible to other members in the same community, which means people can naturally discover you through the communities you engage with as part of the network experience
- Your comment settings for new public posts and Quips will default to anyone can comment, which helps boost your content in the feed. You can adjust this at any time in the post or Quip editor. Once you change it, your preference will be saved for future posts. This doesn't apply to paid access posts, which keep their existing comment settings
- Your navigation will be streamlined. See the tabs below for what the experience looks like on desktop and the app
- When a fan visits your page, they'll see mutual members of your community they also subscribe to, subject to those creators' privacy settings, and cannot be turned off
For information on what controls you have over these changes, see the Privacy section below.
Once your profiles are combined, give it about 10 minutes, as your changes are still taking effect. After that, reopen the app or refresh your browser on desktop to get access to Patreon's network features. It may take some time for your chats and direct messages to refresh and appear after combining. They'll load automatically.
If you have any concerns about past activities on your fan profile, such as memberships, comments, and chats, we have rolled out controls to help you delete, cancel, or keep any activity and current memberships from being publicly visible.
What the experience looks like
On desktop, you now have a unified navigation experience. You can find your Dashboard, Library, and other creator tools in your Creator Studio . Your personal and creator settings are under Your account. You can do everything in one place without having to switch profiles.
In the Patreon mobile app, you don't need to switch views after combining. You're always in your single identity view.
A unified inbox
After combining your creator and fan profiles, you'll be able to access all of your chats and direct messages from a unified inbox.
Your unified inbox has two tabs:
-
You can view direct messages from fans and chats you manage nested under your Patreon inbox tab. From this inbox, you can review your moderation hub, search through messages, send new direct messages, or create a new chat for fans.
-
Direct messages from creators you support and chats you participate in as a fan are nested under the Your membership inbox tab. From here, you can search through your messages and send new direct messages to creators you support.
If you decide to delete your activity when combining profiles, you'll need to rejoin any chats from creators you support and were previously a member of
You'll be able to start a new group chat for your fans, whether you're in your memberships or your Patreon inbox.
How to combine profiles
Combining your profiles is simple and takes effect within a few moments once you accept the prompt.
You'll see a pop-up when you sign in on Patreon, and you can confirm the change. See the step-by-step in the slides below:
-
Step 1: Look for the prompt. Upon logging in, you should see a pop-up notification guiding you through the flow to combine your profiles. If you dismissed it, or it's not there, you can find it on your creator home page.
-
Step 2: Set your preferences. If you have past member activity and/or current memberships, choose how you want them to appear after combining profiles.
-
Step 3: Confirm, and you're in. Once you confirm, you'll receive a notification that your profiles are being combined. Give it about 10 minutes, then you should be good to go. If you're in the app, close it out and reopen it to see the new feed.
-
Not sure if it worked? Check the bottom-left corner of your nav on desktop, or the top-right corner on the app — if you see one profile instead of two, you're all set.
You can also combine your profiles directly.
Timeline
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| April 28 | All audience creators can combine profiles to unlock access to new discovery features. |
| May 27 |
Adult/18+ creators can combine profiles to unlock access to collaboration posts and be prioritized for the rollout of Patreon Video and Quips. Creators have new controls and options to protect their privacy, as combining profiles will become required for all creators. These controls will include the ability to delete all activity, cancel memberships, and limit the visibility of current memberships and activity. See below for more information. |
| July 6 |
Combining profiles becomes required for all creators moving forward. Starting July 6 and gradually over the week, creators who haven’t combined their profiles will not be able to access Patreon, including losing the ability to post and receive payouts. When that happens, you can restore access immediately by combining your profiles. You’ll be prompted to take action when you log in to Patreon, and we’ll also send an email with steps to restore access when you’ve been temporarily locked out of your account. |
| Starting in August |
If you still have not combined your profiles by August, we will begin to automatically do so for you. If you have no memberships or past activity, your profiles will be automatically combined. If you have memberships and/or past activity, all of your member activity will be deleted, and your memberships will remain in place but will be hidden from the creator. We'll notify you before your account is automatically combined. Once your account is automatically combined, you can resume using Patreon as normal. |
For Team accounts, the primary creator account is the one that opts in to combining profiles and network access. Teammate accounts remain separate and don't change when the primary creator combines. Team accounts can't share Quips.
Your privacy after combining
Combining your profiles changes how your identity appears on Patreon. To help protect your privacy and give you more control over how you show up, we've introduced new privacy settings and controls. Read on to learn more about how your identity shows up on Patreon after you combine profiles and what controls you have to adjust these defaults. You can also visit our Privacy Policy for more information.
Note that if you try to erase your account, it erases both your creator and fan profiles — it won't separate the two. To remove only your fan activity, like past interactions or memberships, see your privacy options below for managing them instead.
Here is what you need to know about how your identity changes after you combine your profiles:
- Your public display name becomes your creator name across Patreon
- Past comments, group chat messages, and other activities you made under your fan profile will update to show your creator name
- Your activity (e.g., likes and comments) may be highlighted on your creator page and in others' feeds. You can change this at any time in your Privacy settings; see Manage your membership and activity visibility for more information. Activity on paid posts will only be visible to other paid members of those communities
Here are the privacy controls that creators have access to:
As of May 27th, Patreon offers all creators more ways to manage how your memberships and activity show up across Patreon. As part of this, we're updating some defaults around membership and activity visibility and replacing older profile settings with new, more granular controls.
You can control the following by updating your Privacy Settings at any time:
-
Adjust if your memberships are shown publicly
- Choose whether your name will be shown publicly as a member of your creators
-
Adjust if your activity is highlighted
- Choose whether your activity (e.g., likes and comments) can be highlighted in others' feeds and if you'll have an Activity tab on your creator page.
-
Customize visibility per creator
- Choose whether to show memberships publicly and whether to highlight membership activity for specific creators. You'll be able to select the memberships you don't want to show publicly and the activity you don't want to highlight on a per-creator basis.
All creators on Patreon have access to the controls listed above, regardless of whether they have combined profiles, though you may not see the effects (for instance, your memberships being shown publicly if you choose) until after combining profiles.
Creators who haven't yet combined their profiles and have previous activity and/or current memberships also have access to additional one-time options before doing so:
-
Delete all previous member activity: Permanently delete past member activity (such as likes, comments, chats, DMs) before you combine
- Deleting past member activity will prevent your activity from being associated with your creator name
- If you're a part of any member chats or DMs and choose to delete your member activity, you'll need to rejoin the chats and DMs after you combine your profiles, as deleting activity removes you from those conversations.
-
Cancel memberships: Cancel all or selected memberships before combining
- You'll have access to the membership until your subscription period ends - this means that if you subscribe monthly, you'll have access until the end of the month, and if you subscribe annually, you'll have access until the end of the annual period. Your name will be hidden from that creator, but your past member activity will remain visible unless you delete it before combining
Here's a table of the Privacy controls available to creators, depending on the particular circumstances:
| Circumstance | Controls available |
|---|---|
|
Any creator who has already combined their profile and now has a single identity Any creator who has not yet combined profiles, nor has active memberships, nor has past member activity |
Head to your privacy settings to adjust the following:
|
| Any creator who has not yet combined their profiles, and has past member activity and/or existing memberships |
When you combine your profiles, you'll be guided through a flow to set up these controls ahead of combining profiles. You'll be able to:
After combining profiles, you'll be able to adjust the visibility of your memberships and activity at any time in your privacy settings. |
These controls only manage your past fan activity, they don't erase your account. To erase your entire account, including both your creator and fan profiles, see our guide on How to erase your Patreon account (Account Deletion).
Adult/18+ creators
Combining profiles is required for all creators by July 6th, including Adult/18+ creators. For creators with content for Adult/18+ audiences, the available features are slightly different.
If you have memberships and/or past member activity, you'll see the privacy options listed above in the same flow that prompts you to combine your profiles. Before you combine, you'll see options to manage the privacy of current memberships and/or past member activity, including canceling memberships and deleting past interactions and chats ― see the privacy section above for more detail. After you combine, you'll get access to collaboration posts right away.
Quips and Patreon Video are coming to Adult/18+ creators in the coming months. At first, Quips will be visible only to your members and to any fans who visit your page and are over 18 years old.
Creators who combined profiles before July 6th may be prioritized as Patreon rolls out Quips and Patreon Video. You'll receive an email when you get access.

After combining, some features aren't available to adult/18+ creators yet, including:
- Quips
- Patreon Video
- Feed recommendations
See the Adult/18+ Creators section for everything that's included.
- Starting on July 6, if you haven't combined your creator and fan profiles yet, you won't be able to use Patreon as usual, including posting and receiving payouts. You'll be prompted to combine your profiles as soon as you log into your Patreon account. You can also combine your profiles directly.
-
If you haven't combined your profiles yet, you won’t be able to use Patreon as usual until you do so. Once you confirm combining profiles, give it about 10 minutes, as your changes are still taking effect. You'll see a pop-up in the app letting you know your profiles have been combined and what's changed.
If you haven't combined by July 6, you won’t be able to use Patreon as usual until you combine your profiles. Beginning in August, if you still haven’t combined your profiles, Patreon will start to automatically combine your profiles. When this happens, all of your member activity will be deleted if you have any, and any memberships will remain in place but will be hidden from the creator.
-
If you haven't combined your profiles yet, you'll see prompts to do so in several places across Patreon. Check your navigation to see if your profiles are combined:
- On web, click the bottom-left corner of the navigation
- In the app, check the top-right corner
If you see separate member and creator profiles, your profiles aren't combined yet. If you see a single identity, you're all set.
- All creators who haven't combined yet, including those who make content suitable for all audiences, have access to privacy controls to manage current memberships and/or past member activity before combining. Specifically, you can cancel any memberships you hold as a fan, adjust the visibility of specific memberships, and delete past member activity and chats. This gives you control over what carries over before you combine.
- As of July 6, 2026, combining profiles is required for all creators. Additional privacy controls are available, including the ability to manage current memberships and/or past member activity. You can cancel any memberships you hold as a fan, adjust the visibility of specific memberships, and delete past member activity and chats. There is no effect on your existing content or your members' access in the meantime.
- Combining profiles doesn't impact the visibility of your existing memberships. Your activity on public posts will be visible in the Home feed to other fans and creators. This helps more people discover you through the creators you subscribe to and the communities you engage with. We rolled out controls to help you manage what's visible, including the ability to hide activity and memberships.
- Here's what to expect once your profiles are combined:
- Memberships: You can change the visibility of your existing memberships in your privacy settings
- Past member activity: Comments, chats, and messages you made under your fan profile will update to show your creator name. The content itself isn't redistributed or newly surfaced — only the name displayed on it changes. Note that if you cancel a membership and don't want your past member activity to be shown, you'll need to separately delete it in the flow
- Activity in the feed: Your activity on public posts, such as comments and likes, may be visible to others on Patreon as part of the Network experience. You can also adjust your activity visibility in the privacy settings
- All creators have access to new tools to manage their privacy on Patreon before combining profiles. You're able to choose whether or not you'd like to highlight your activity (e.g., likes and comments) in discovery feeds on a per-creator basis. Creators also have one-time options to manage current memberships and/or past member activity, cancel specific memberships, and adjust the visibility of specific memberships before combining. For full details, visit the privacy controls section above.
- No. Your members' experience doesn't change. Paid members will continue to see your posts exactly as they do now.
- If you manage a team account, the primary creator account is the one that combines profiles. Teammate accounts remain separate and don't change when the primary creator combines. Team accounts will maintain their separate identities.
- In both Desktop and the Patreon mobile app, you don't need to switch views after combining, and you're always in your single-identity view. On desktop, you can select the features and settings in the left-side menu. In the app, you select the tools from the bottom menu. In both cases, you're doing it as a single identity rather than switching between separate profiles.
- The Patreon network is a set of features that helps fans find creators beyond those they already follow and helps creators reach new audiences on Patreon. For a full overview of the network features, see the Patreon network guide.
- Patreon's network has a set of new features, including:
- Quips: Quips are a lightweight, public type of post that appears in the Home feed. It's a quick way to share an update or engage with your community without creating a full post. For more details, visit our guide on Sharing Quips
- Memberships to creators: A new section on your creator page that lists the creators you subscribe to. You can hide it at any time in your Page settings
- Mutuals: When a fan visits your page, they'll see other members of your community they also subscribe to, helping new fans feel at home right away. Which creators appear depends on each creator's privacy settings
