Importing an existing mailing list to Patreon is currently available in early access. If you’re interested, please fill out this form, and we’ll review whether you qualify.
Overview
Importing your email list lets you bring subscribers you already have permission to contact into Patreon, so you can reach them using posts and emails on Patreon.
How it works
For you (the creator)
- Contacts you import who aren’t already members will receive all emails you send to free members or all members
- You’ll have the option to send them a welcome email upon import. After that, imported subscribers can’t be targeted or excluded as a separate group
- Imported subscribers who don’t create a Patreon account won’t be counted as active members in Membership insights or your Relationship manager. Instead, they’ll be included in a Total audience banner in Membership insights, which combines email-only subscribers and active members
-
Imported contacts will appear under Audience > Imported users
For imported subscribers
- Imported subscribers who don’t create a Patreon account are known as email-only subscribers
- They’ll receive your posts via email, but will need a Patreon account to comment on posts, vote in polls, join chats or livestreams, or play audio and video content
- They can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of your emails
- They won’t receive Patreon system emails (such as upgrade prompts or chat notifications) unless they create a Patreon account
