How do I request a refund?

  • Updated

Before proceeding, we recommend reviewing Patreon’s Terms of Use and Refund Policy.

Patreon is a platform that facilitates payments from members to their creators. When we process a member’s payment, we send it to the supported creator’s balance. For this reason, we encourage you to reach out to the creator with your refund request.

How do I ask for a refund?

You can request a refund from a creator by messaging them directly on Patreon. We recommend including the following information: the amount of the transaction(s) you are requesting be refunded, the date(s) of the original transaction(s) and your reason for requesting a refund.

Creators are responsible for benefits and content distribution. While it is discouraged, it does not violate our terms if a creator doesn’t deliver expected benefits.

If you’ve purchased a digital product through the iOS Patreon app, you can also request a refund for your purchase through Apple. To do this, you would need to go through the Apple refund flow with your Apple ID. Apple will process refunds within 60 days of the purchase taking place. Whether you request a refund from a creator or from Apple, if the refund is granted, you will receive the full amount you paid back to your Apple account.

What if the creator refuses to refund?

Since we sent your payment to their balance, we ask that you go to the creator with your refund request. That said, we may issue refunds at our sole discretion.
Please, be aware that asking for a refund does not guarantee that it will be approved. Patreon will review your refund request, and you will receive notice of whether the refund is denied or approved. Once a refund is issued, it can take 5–7 working days to process.
