Collections

  • Updated

Collections are a great way to group and present your posts so your members get the most value out of their membership. Think of it as organizing your content library into different sections to make it easier for your members to navigate and find what they're searching for.

You can increase member discovery and consumption of posts, especially older posts, when they are featured in a collection.

Create a collection

Follow the steps below to start using collections:

When adding posts to collections, you can search for individual posts by name or click the Filters button to filter by media type or existing tags.

Alternatively, you can also create a collection when creating/editing a post:

Collections can be easily found by members in a dedicated tab at the top of your creator homepage. When accessed through a web browser, this tab will also include your tags, but in the Patreon app, only collections will display.

Create a collection with tags

You can use both collections and tags on your Patreon. If you’ve already been using tags and want to convert them to collections, you can easily do so by following these steps:

From the Manage Collections page, you can

  • Add existing posts to a collection

Alternatively, you can customize the order of the content by clicking and dragging the Style=Solid.png icon on the left-hand side of each post, dropping it wherever you wish to reposition it. Please note the post at the top will serve as the collection cover photo unless you replace it with a custom image
  • Edit the collection title/cover image/description
    • Next to the collection you want to change the title, image, or description, click on the Edit button and then click on the Edit button that is on the top right side of the page
  • Reorder collections
    • Drag a collection by clicking on the Style=Solid.png icon on the left-hand side and drop it where you want to reorganize it in a manner that suits you
  • Delete a collection
    • Click the trash can button next to the collection you want to delete and select the Delete button. Note that this action can’t be undone. Deleting a collection is permanent

  • Yes, you can add the same post to multiple collections. This can be a useful way to ensure that your content is accessible to a wider audience and easier to find. The best way to go about this would be to go through the Post editor on the specific post you want and select all of the relevant collections in which you want to include that post.

  • There is no limit to the collections you can make. You can create as many collections as you like to organize your content in a way that makes sense for you and your audience.

  • You can add up to 500 posts per collection.

  • You are currently not able to add permissions/tiers to collections. The tier permission is done at the post level. Tiered content will appear locked within a collection to those in different membership tiers. Members will have the ability to upgrade their membership to gain access to the locked content.

Feel free to refer to Managing access to your posts to learn more about setting post access.

  • All collections and posts must meet our Community Guidelines and Benefit Guidelines. If a post/collection does not meet our guidelines, we may need to hide it. Please be mindful of these guidelines when you are creating the title, cover image, and description of your collections.

Collections and Posts that are Hidden will not be available to your members until you take action to correct the issues within the post(s) or collection that do not meet our guidelines. We'll send you an email detailing the next steps.

If you have any questions about our Community Guidelines or your specific collection, please submit a ticket through our Help Center for additional support.
