How do I message my patrons?

As a creator, you can easily send welcome notes, deliver benefits, and communicate essential updates to patrons, all from the Relationship manager. Please note that patron-to-patron messaging isn’t currently possible — refer to this guide on messaging a creator if you’re a patron.

How to message an individual patron

As a creator, there are 2 different ways to message a single patron:

Message a patron from your creator Relationships manager

  1. While logged in to your creator account, click on Patrons from the left navigation
  2. Click on the Relationship manager
  3. In your relationship manager, you can search for a patron’s name or use the filters to pin-point a particular patron
  4. You can click on the patron’s profile to bring up more details or click the Message button
  5. Type up your message and click the Send button. When you send a message to a patron, it creators a message thread where you can find your conversation with that individual

Message a patron from their profile

  1. Visit the patron’s profile page
  2. Click on the Message button
  3. Type your message and click the Send button

How to message multiple patrons

  1. While logged in to your creator account, click on Patrons from the left navigation
  2. Click on the Relationship manager
  3. You can use the statuses and filters at the top of your manager to generate a list of patrons you’d like to message. Here are some examples of how you can use filters to communicate with large audiences strategically:
    • Message all active patrons in a tier. Leave the default Active status selected, then click Filters > and pick a specific Tier. You can message an entire tier to deliver benefits via messages!
    • Message declined patrons. Click on the Declined button to get a list of all declined patrons. You can use the As of today filter at the top of the page to get a list of declined patrons from a specific date range
  4. Craft your message and click on the Send button

Managing your messages

All of your messages with patrons live in your creator inbox. Your creator inbox is where you’ll find responses from patrons and any new messages from patrons who have reached out directly to you.

Creators have 2 inboxes:

  • Your creator inbox: where you communicate with your patrons
  • Your patron inbox: where you can communicate with creators you support

FAQ

Can I send pictures via messaging?

Not at the moment. You can share links with users, which is an option for sharing image sets with patrons.

Can I send bulk messages?

Absolutely! Read the above section about bulk messaging to learn how.

Can I delete a message?

It isn’t currently possible to delete private messages.

Can I message followers?

You can only message patrons you have or have had a financial relationship with (former patron). So you can’t send messages to followers. If you want to send a message to your followers, we recommend making a public post, which followers can access.

Can I pick specific patrons from my list to bulk message?

You can manually select patrons from your Relationship manager to message. Once you’ve selected the patrons, click the Message button.
