Setting up a Special Offer

The Special Offers feature is designed to boost your member engagement and increase your earnings by introducing a limited-time benefit exclusively for new members joining specific tiers.

How do I set up a Special Offer?

  1. While in your creator view, go to your Dashboard and head to your Page details by clicking on the Page controls "..." button
  2. Open the Offers link at the top of the page
  3. Select what you'd like to offer for a limited time — you can choose from the existing templates or Create your own benefit
  4. Enter the name of your offer (up to 30 characters) and add a description
  5. Set the start date and time, as well as the end date and time of your offer. The end time will always default to the top of the next hour
    • If your page is unpublished, you'll set how many days you want your offer to last (between 1 and 60 days) instead — your Special Offer will go live automatically as soon as you publish your page
  6. Select the tiers that will receive the Special Offer benefit (note that once you select a tier, all tiers above it will be automatically selected — this is to ensure that members on higher tiers aren't incentivized to downgrade)
  7. If you're shipping a physical Special Offer, like a sticker, you can also add a request for this information to your tier. Just select the Shipping address box below your tiers selection. We'll email existing members requesting their shipping addresses as soon as your offer goes live
  8. Once you've entered all details, click on the Schedule Offer button
  9. The Special Offer lightning bolt will populate on your creator page for your fans to check as soon as the start date and time arrive

Special Offers cannot run for more than 60 days. You can only run one Special Offer at a time.

How will a Special Offer display on my page?

Once you've created a Special Offer and selected which tiers it applies to, your creator page will show a special illustration with the offer's end date.

Here's what to expect depending on your billing type:

Subscription billing or Charge Up Front (Legacy)

  • Members will be added to the Benefit Tracker at the end of the Special Offer period
  • If a member cancels their membership before the offer ends, their benefit will still appear in the Benefit Tracker — you can decide whether to fulfill it

Non-Charge Up Front (Legacy)

  • Benefits will be added to the Benefit Tracker at the beginning of the month following the end of the Special Offer. For example, if a Special Offer runs through December 2, benefits will be created on January 1
  • If the Special Offer ends on the 1st of the month but after that month's payment has already been processed, the benefit will be created after the following payment cycle

This feature is not available to Per Post creators.

Additional questions

  • Here are a few tips:
    • Poll your members to find out which benefit they'd most like to receive
    • Announce the offer via livestream or video at a time when your members are most active
    • If you're offering a physical item, consider pricing it at 3x your cost to cover your time, production, and shipping — while still making a profit
    • Build anticipation on social media with a countdown, especially in the final days of the offer
  • Some popular options from other creators include stickers, pins, limited-edition posters, livestreams, virtual concerts, shoutouts in a book or album, exclusive videos or graphics, and recognition at live events.
  • Yes, select the option to collect shipping addresses, and we'll send an email to existing members asking them to add this information when your offer goes live.
