How to change your cover image

You can update the cover photo on your creator page anytime you're logged into Patreon.

• To help your cover photo display well across devices, we recommend keeping key visuals centered and avoiding placing important details near the edges, since narrower screens may crop the sides.

  To change your cover image, follow the steps below:

  1. Select Creator studio from the left navigation — you'll land on your Dashboard
  2. On your page, click Edit page in the top-right corner
  3. In your editing panel, go to Header Details
  4. Scroll down to Header options — you can Use profile photo as a header or Upload cover photo
  5. Select Upload cover photo and click on Add an image to upload a new image
  6. Choose an image from your device — we recommend that your image be at least 1600 x 400 pixels, and the supported formats are JPEG or PNG
     • You can also define a Theme color for your page by adding the hexadecimal code or clicking in the colored square
  7. Once uploaded, you'll be able to crop the image if you want to. To adjust the size, move the dots around the desired area. When you're done, click Save and your new cover image will appear in the preview
  8. If you're satisfied with the result, click on the Publish button on the top-right corner of the page

  Please note that when you remove your current cover image, you must replace it with another image in order to save your page changes.

  1. If you aren't already there, click the My page link from the left sidebar navigation
  2. Click on the Page controls or "..." button, and select Edit Page from the submenu
  3. You'll land on the Basics section of your page editor, scroll down and click on your current cover image to upload a new image
  4. Select your image from your device — we recommend that your image be 1600 x 400 pixels
  5. Once uploaded, your new cover image will automatically save. When you revisit your creator page, you'll find your new image.

  When you remove your current cover image, you must replace it with another image in order to save your page changes.

FAQ

• New page editor: In its maximum view, the cover photo will be displayed at 1600 x 400 pixels. We recommend using a wide image that's at least the suggested size. Although smaller sizes will still work, they may appear to be slightly pixelated.

  Legacy page editor: In its maximum view, the cover photo will be displayed at 1600 x 400 pixels. We recommend using a wide image with dimensions at least 1200 x 675 pixels (although smaller sizes will still work, they may appear to be slightly pixelated).

• New page editor: Your upload file sizes must be 3 MB or less per image.

  Legacy page editor: Your upload file sizes must be 16 MB or less per image.

• Your cover photo is still there for all your fans and members, it just no longer appears in your creator dashboard. We removed it from the dashboard view to give you more space to work and easier access to the tools you need.

  You can preview how your public page looks with your cover photo anytime by going to your Dashboard and clicking More next to the Edit page button, then selecting View page. As an alternative, you can go directly to patreon.com/customize or open your page in an incognito tab to see it exactly as visitors do.

• Right now, the Patreon app features your profile photo as the main image, which is separate from your cover image. If you'd like to update your profile photo, you can do that anytime within Edit Page.
