As a per creation creator there are many different ways to release your creations (content), but not all Posts will result in your patrons being billed. Whether you create; podcasts, music, images, or videos, the only way to charge your patrons for your creations is to share them in Paid Posts.
Note: Your Patrons are not automatically billed for every Post that you make, so if you want to charge them on the 1st, be sure to select Charge Patrons checkbox before you publish a Post. You can read more about how your patrons are billed, .
Here’s a breakdown of the different ways that you, as a per creation creator, can publish your content:
Patrons Only paid Post
Your patrons are billed their pledge for this post and the post is visible to all patrons, but not to the public. Patrons will have a pending bill on their account until payments are processed on the 1st of the following month, or immediately upon cancelling their membership to you (whichever comes first).
Note: If you’ve indicated that you create Adult Content, your Posts will default to Patron Only. If you are not creating Adult Content, your Posts will default to Public.
Public paid Post
Your patrons are billed their pledge for this post and the post is publicly visible. So all of your patrons and non-patrons alike can view this post. When you publish this Post, a pending bill is placed on your Patrons’ accounts. We process pending bills on the 1st of the following month, or immediately when the Patron cancels their membership to you.
Patron Only unpaid Post
Patrons are not billed for this Post, however, all Patrons (at any Membership level) can see the content of the Post.
For specific Patrons unpaid Post
Your Patrons are not billed for this post and it is only visible to the Membership value that you’ve selected (as well as your higher paying patrons).
Public unpaid Post
Your Patrons are not billed and the Post is publicly visible. This means that all of your patrons and non patrons can view this post.
Will my Patrons be billed for every paid Post that I publish?
No. To ensure that Patrons can still support per creation creators, even if they’re on a budget, Patrons have the option to set a monthly billing max. Patrons will be billed for every paid Post you make while they have an active membership, up to their monthly max. Check out this article that explains monthly maxes for Patrons, here:
